SAFE MOVEMENT IN THE MOUNTAINS COURSE
Safe movement in winter conditions using crampons and ice axes
When winter sets in, mountains become much more dangerous than in summer. Many people therefore find them out of reach at the time, or set off on a tour with little or no prior knowledge.
We therefore invite you to take part in a winter course on safe terrain and gain the knowledge and experience to move around the mountains in winter conditions.

SCHEDULE:

Day 1:
- 16:00 Gathering at Pokljuka or Bled (by agreement)
- 18:00 Dinner
- 19:00 Lecture on dangers in the mountains, winter technical equipment, preparation for the tour, presentation of crampons and ice axes and their use
Day 2:
- 7:30 Breakfast
- 8:00 a.m. Exercises in the field - Demonstration of the correct use of winter technical equipment
- Use of crampons
- Walking with crampons
- Using an ice ax when walking
- Stopping slips and falls with an ice axe
- Climbing on a winter hiking tour to a safe location
- Arrival at Pokljuka at 5 p.m

Necessary equipment - Warm winter goratex clothing, (down jacket, waterproof pants or rain pants), rucksack, hot tea, some energy bar, winter high boots, gaiters, double gloves, hat, sunglasses, sun cream, headlamp, crampons , ice axe, helmet (equipment can be partly borrowed).
